The American buffalo skull symbolizes courage, toughness, agility and life-long protection from all natural elements. Skulls were also placed outside of lodges, offering information about the dwellers inside as well as protecting them. Because of the American buffalo's great importance, a buffalo skull stands as a reminder of this great animal, which gave completely of itself for others.

This Pen & Ink drawing is on cold pressed watercolor paper using my version of stippling. Watercolors were used for enhancement. The watercolor paper is adhered to a wooden panel then coated with archival beeswax. This contemporary finish protects the art while elevating the traditional glass covering. The edges are wrapped with patinaed copper. Overall size is approximately 20” X 26”.
